This adventure activity involves traversing from one mountain to another across a valley using ropes fastened securely to each mountain. After donning a harness, you traverse several feet above the ground before rappelling down the mountain. It's a thrilling and blissful combination that every adventure enthusiast would love to experience! Fortunately, I had the chance to enjoy this thrilling activity yesterday. Jivdhan is a hill fortress located near the town of Ghatghar in Junnar Taluka of Pune district in Maharashtra, India, about 1 km away. Situated at an altitude of 3,757 ft above sea level, the fort is uniquely related to the prehistoric times of Satavahana reign. When Naneghat served as the major spot of the trading business, Jivdhan fort served as the savior of the trade route as it was well connected to the sea. The Mughals and Marathas attempted to take over the fort, but the British government ultimately seized it and ruined the beauty of its entrances, leaving behind only remnants that are worth cherishing. At one end of the fort is a famous pinnacle called Vanarlingi that is frequented by rock climbers. The fort is rectangular in shape and offers beautiful panoramic views of Konkan from the edge of Vanarlingi. From the top of Jivdhan fort trek, one can see Nanacha Aanghta, Harishchandragad, Ratangad, Naneghat, Hadsar fort, Nimgiri fort, Hadsar, Chavand, Kukdeshwar's temple, the small dam of Dhasai, and the roads in Malshej Ghat.
